Gas and liquid lasers

Time and energy characteristics of the radiation from a picosecond holographic distributed-feedback dye laser

Abstract: An investigation was made of the time and energy characteristics of a holographic distributed-feedback dye laser excited by a single ultrashort second harmonic pulse from a neodymium laser utilizing YAG and glass. It was found that an increase in the duration of the output pulses and a deterioration in the reproducibility of the time characteristics accompanying a shift of the lasing wavelength toward the edges of the gain profile were due to an increase in the superradiance level.
