Abstract:
Analytic results are obtained for the spectra and absolute yields of charged products of fusion reactions escaping from a laser plasma. It is shown that the dimensions, density, and temperature of the compressed core of a laser plasma can be determined from experimentally measured charged-particle spectra and yields by applying the results derived in the present paper.
