Helium-cadmium laser with intracavity phase modulation

Abstract: A study was made of the spectral and time characteristics of a helium-cadmium laser operated under phase-locked and frequency-modulated conditions. Narrow-band frequency modulation should be useful in various physics experiments and in laser communication and radar systems. Stable stimulated emission of a single pulse train was possible in the phase-locked modulation range.
