Examination of the possibility of lidar measurements of stratospheric ozone density

Abstract:
A proposal is made to use the comparative absorption method in remote lidar measurements of stratospheric ozone. The range in which such measurements are possible (300–320 nm) is selected on the basis of the calculation of the intensity of the backscattered radiation. Potential sources of high-power laser radiation in the required range are discussed.
