Abstract: An analysis is made of possible ways of increasing the volume density of data storage in optoelectronic memories. It is shown that this density is maximal for certain optimal diameters of the objectives in the optical system of a memory. The construction of a high-capacity optical memory system in the form of separate modules makes it possible to reduce the optimal diameters of the objectives and to increase the effective volume density of the stored data.
