Abstract: An investigation was made of the operation of a pulsed electron-beam-controlled CO laser with a working mixture kept at room temperature. It was found possible to build a large (10 liter) laser of this type. When the excitation duration was ~30 μsec, the output energy exceeded 100 J per pulse.
