Investigation of the amplitude distributions of noise and of signal with noise in a detector with parametric frequency conversion

Abstract:
An experimental study was made of the amplitude distributions of noise and of a signal with noise in a detector with parametric frequency conversion. The distributions were quite close to the Poisson law, which confirmed the theoretical assumptions. The results of this study were used to determine the real sensitivity of the detector, which was 2X10–8 W, and the probability false readings and misses, which was 10–3.
