Abstract: A method was developed for tuning a pulse CO2 laser to the 9-μ region. This was done using resonant absorbers placed inside the laser resonator. The pressure in a cell with an absorbing gas was varied from 5 mm Hg to 1 atm. The output in the 9-μ region was comparable with that at λ = 10.6 μ.
