Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of a thin-film laser with a distributed feedback ensured by a periodic modulation of the waveguide layer thickness. Stimulated emission was observed for samples with modulation periods of 0.2 μ (first Bragg diffraction order), 0.6 μ (third order), and 1 μ (fifth order). An estimate was obtained of the threshold pump power absorbed in a specific thin-film laser.
