Holographic formation of interferograms and shadow patterns of gas flow from a reflecting nozzle of a shock tube

V. F. Ivanov, L. T. Mustafina, A. P. Shatilov, E. S. Yushkov
Abstract: A description is given of a holographic system with a narrow reference beam. The system is based on a standard shadowgraph and it is used to study the flow of a gas from a reflecting nozzle in a shock tube. It is shown that one hologram can be used to reconstruct both shadow patterns and interferograms. Details of the holographic interferometer system are described and examples of its use are given.
