Analysis of the data on spontaneous emission probabilities and collisional broadening cross sections of 0001–1000 lines of the CO2 molecule

Abstract:
A critical analysis is made of the experimental values of the Einstein coefficients Amn and of the collisional broadening cross sections of the P(20) line due to the 0001–1000 transition in the CO2 molecule. On the basis of this analysis it is recommended that the Amn = 0.187 sec–1 value be used for the P(20) line and that the broadening of the lines at 300°K due to collisions of the CO2 molecules with CO2, N2, and He be described by the constants 7.58, 5.56, and 4.86 MHz/Torr, respectively.
