Influence of vapors of organic substances and of ultraviolet radiation emitted by a surface on the optical breakdown threshold

Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of a reduction in the optical breakdown threshold in air under the influence of ethanol vapor and of ultraviolet radiation generated by microdischarges on target surfaces. Use was made of CO2 laser pulses of 3 μs duration.
