Interaction of laser radiation with matter

Laser flux causing reversal of plasma waves

V. F. Kovalev, V. V. Pustovalov
Abstract: The condition for reversal (breaking) of the profile of nonlinear Langmuir oscillations, excited by laser radiation, is stated and analyzed as a function of the laser plasma parameters. It is shown that the laser flux causing reversal of a Langmuir wave has a minimum when considered as a function of the characteristic size of a plasma density inhomogeneity.
