Signal measurement under conditions of nonlinear conversion of multimode laser radiation

Abstract:
An analysis is made of the efficiency of nonlinear conversion of multimode laser radiation as a function of the duration of a laser noise segment or the number of laser modes. It is confirmed that the fall of the conversion efficiency with increasing number of modes is a measurement effect related to the energy normalization of the experimentally measured quantities. An estimate is obtained of the scatter of the measured quantities from one laser flash to another. It is established that the scatter may exceed the average values, which complicates greatly measurements in experiments involving nonlinear conversion of multimode laser radiations.
