Abstract: An analysis is made of the efficiency of recognition of objects viewed through a turbulent atmosphere in the two cases when objects are recognized on the basis on their optical images and on the basis of reconstructed intensity holograms. The conditions for optimal selection of one of these two informationprocessing methods are formulated.
