Influence of the resonator length on the dynamics of generation of ultrashort light pulses

Full-text PDF (929 kB) Citations (4)
Abstract: It is shown theoretically that an increase in the length of the resonator of a laser with a bleachable filter enhances the nonlinearity of the amplifying medium in the course of bleaching of the filter. This results in more efficient growth of ultrashort pulses from the original noise. It is demonstrated that there is an optimal resonator length which corresponds to the maximum contrast of ultrashort pulses.
