Abstract:
A theoretical study is made of the influence of the rotational relaxation on the laser stimulation of chemical reactions. Two rotational relaxation models (weak and strong collisions) are considered analytically. It is shown that according to these models, rotational relaxation does not affect significantly the possibility of selective excitation of molecular vibrations by infrared radiation.
