Holographic recording of transient optical fields in thin holograms

Abstract: It is shown that a space- and time-dependent optical signal can be recorded in a thin hologram using a reference wave produced by a moving diffuser. Expressions are obtained for the spatial and temporal resolutions of the reconstructed signal. Experimental results obtained by this method are described.
