Nonequilibrium excitation of the vibrational spectrum of boron trichloride by CO2 laser radiation

N. V. Karlov, N. A. Karpov, Yu. N. Petrov
Abstract: It was found experimentally that the action of resonant CO2 laser radiation produced nonequilibrium populations of the vibrational levels of BCl3. The average energy needed to reach high vibrational levels and dissociation threshold was less than the equilibrium (thermal) energy of the excitation process.
