Some aspects of the intense evaporation of condensed media by laser radiation

Full-text PDF (734 kB) Citations (7)
Abstract: It is shown theoretically that, in a certain range of temperatures T0 and pressures p, steady-state intense evaporation conditions with constant values of T0 and p cannot be established on the surface of a condensed medium illuminated with laser radiation. Pulsations due to explosive breakup of the surface layer of the metastable liquid phase may appear in this range of temperatures and pressures.
