Radiation emitted by an electron in the field of two linearly polarized electromagnetic waves
N. N. Akhmediev
Abstract:
A theoretical analysis is made of the radiation emitted by an electron moving in the field of two plane linearly polarized electromagnetic waves of arbitrary intensity. These waves are of frequencies ω1 and ω2 and they travel in the same direction. The general solution of the problem obtained by a classical analysis makes it possible to find the angular distribution of the intensity of the radiation emitted at any one of the combination frequencies ωk = k1ω1 + k2ω2. Equations are obtained for the intensities of the sum and difference frequency radiations in the case of low intensities of the incident waves.
