Spatial phase filters matched to transverse modes

Abstract: New spatial phase filters matched to transverse modes were proposed and investigated; they were analogs of sinusoidal phase diffraction gratings with a variable modulation depth. A set of spatial phase filters matched to Gauss–Laguerre modes was made and studied experimentally. The energy efficiency of the phase niters was 7–10 times higher than that of amplitude niters.
