Interaction of laser radiation with matter

Continuous optical discharge burning at elevated pressures

Full-text PDF (678 kB) Citations (1)
Abstract: Equations describing a continuous optical discharge at pressures of 2–60 atm were integrated numerically. The power threshold was determined. A comparison was made with an experiment in air at an elevated pressure. It was established that a continuous optical discharge with a focusing spot of small radius exists at all pressures. There is an upper pressure limit when the radius of the focusing spot is large.
