Fast-response broad-band lithium niobate electrooptic elements for laser beam control systems

A. L. Mikaélyan, M. M. Koblova, B. S. Kiselev, È. A. Zasovin
Abstract: A description is given of a study of the frequency and pulse characteristics of polarization modulators and switches for discrete deflectors, made of 0°-cut lithium niobate crystals. Methods are proposed for increasing the operating range of these devices by correcting the electrical control signals. A single-stage switching time of the order of 300 nsec is reported.
