Pulse fluorometer measurement of the duration of the fluorescence of chlorophyll excited by a mode-locked laser

Abstract:
Measurements were made of the duration of various components of the fluorescence of chlorophyll in a leaf. These measurements were carried out using a pulse fluorometer with an image converter. The time resolution of the instrument was 10–11 sec. Measurements were made also of the duration of the fluorescence emitted by photosynthesis reaction centers. The results obtained were used as a basis of a model of functioning of the reaction centers in chloroplasts.
