Generalization of the Ramsey formula for the probability of a transition in the method of separate oscillating fields

Abstract: A general expression is obtained for the line profile of a transition occurring in a beam of two-level molecules interacting with m ≥ 1 separate oscillating fields. It is shown that, if m > 2, then (m–2) side maxima of the Ramsey line nearest to the center are suppressed.
