Saturation effect in resonance transitions between multiple levels

Abstract: It is shown that the dependence of the probability of stimulated absorption on the intensity of the external field is not monotonic if resonance takes place between two groups of closely spaced levels rather than between two isolated levels. Examples of a resonance interaction between atomic doublet levels are considered.
