Emission of ultrashort laser pulses from neodymium-doped phosphate glasses in selective resonators

Yu. I. Krasilov, A. F. Solokha
Abstract: Neodymium-doped phosphate glasses and selectors of different thickness were used in the generation of mode-locked laser radiation. This made it possible to study the emission of two bands with a variable frequency interval between them and the emission of one band of variable width. When the widest band was emitted, the duration of ultrashort pulses was measured by the two-photon luminescence and found to be 15–20 psec. This duration agreed with the reciprocal of the width of the spectrum. The output radiation parameters were highly reproducible irrespective of the nature of the selective resonator employed.
