Influence of laser radiation on the current in a hollowcathode glow discharge

Abstract: An investigation was made of the change in the current due to laser illumination of the medium and electrodes in a hollow-cathode glow discharge. The change in the current due to the illumination of the interior of the hollow cathode was proportional to the laser radiation energy so that this phenomenon could used as the basis of a laser pulse detector.
