Lasers

Kinetics of generation of high-frequency series of pulses using solid-state lasers

T. A. Kuzovkova, E. V. Nilov
Abstract: A numerical investigation was made of the temporal characteristics of high-power radiation and of the field structure of a laser generating series of pulses at repetition frequencies in the kilohertz range. Lasers with plane and unstable resonator geometries were considered. The lasing was found to be unstable in both cases. The reasons for this instability are discussed.
