Abstract:
An analysis is made of the use of thick-film holograms in complex-conjugate (matched) filtering. It is shown that the main advantages of such filtering are a better separation of the signal and noise and a better separation of the output signals. This makes it possible to filter long sequences of symbols and to achieve a higher brightness of the correlation maximum. It is shown experimentally that the use of thickfilm holograms as matched filters increases by about one order of magnitude the signal/noise ratio compared with the corresponding ratio of thin-film hologram filters.
