Stimulated Brillouin scattering in optical resonators pumped with a nonmonochromatic radiation

V. B. Gerasimov, S. A. Gerasimova, E. M. Zemskov, V. K. Orlov
Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of the characteristics of stimulated Brillouin scattering in resonators pumped with nonmonochromatic radiation. Expressions are obtained for the threshold pump intensity and field amplitudes in a resonator. Amplitude and phase modulation of the pump field is discussed in the case of excitation of the first Stokes component in a resonator.
