Abstract:
Compression of pulses from an Nd phosphate laser, of 1 ns duration, by stimulated Raman scattering in SnCl4 was used to generate Stokes pulses with λ = 1.097 μm, of duration less than 150 ps, and of ~50 mJ energy. The energy conversion efficiency reached 40%.
