Nonlinear optics

Use of a stimulated Brillouin scattering mirror in compensation of distortions of a light beam in a dispersive medium

O. I. Vasil'ev, S. S. Lebedev, L. P. Semenov
Abstract: It was found experimentally that distortions of a light beam resulting from the scattering of waves by a cloud of particles were compensated by phase conjugation performed by a stimulated Brillouin scattering (STBS) mirror. The dependence of the precision of correction of the distortions by an STBS mirror on the optical thickness of the medium was determined.
