Interaction of laser radiation with matter

Amplification of spontaneous radiation in transient plasma filaments

A. V. Borovskii, V. V. Korobkin, Ch. K. Mukhtarov
Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of those characteristics of amplification of spontaneous radiation in expanding plasma filaments which are associated with the transient nature of the active medium and defocusing of the radiation. A study is made of the limitations imposed by these two factors on the possibility of recombination pumping of multiply charged ions with shorter wavelengths.
