Abstract:
Multistage compression of YAG:Nd laser pulses of 5 nsec duration by stimulated Brillouin scattering in CCl4 and of the second harmonic of the compressed pulses by stimulated Raman backscattering in CH4 (at a pressure of 30 atm) was used to generate Stokes pulses (λ = 0.63 μ) of ~10 psec duration and ~10 mJ energy at a repetition frequency up to 12.5 Hz.
