Abstract: Single crystals of 4-aminostilbene were grown by crystallisation from a solution. Measurements were made of their refractive indices, transmission spectra, nonlinear optical and electro-optical coefficients, and moduli of the inverse piezoelectric effect. Potential applications of 4-aminostilbene in nonlinear frequency conversion are discussed.
