Generation of infrared radiation as a result of stimulated Raman scattering in rotational transitions

Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of the possibility of generation of infrared radiation due to stimulated Raman scattering in gases. The optimal conditions for such generation are determined. Different experimental arrangements are compared.
