Lasers and physical processes in them

Excited molecular complexes in dye solutions and near-infrared exciplex lasers

V. A. Babenko, A. A. Sychev
Abstract: Lasing tunable in the 1.41–1.65 μ range was achieved in a solution of a new infrared dye capable of forming excited molecular complexes under optical pumping. The energy and spectral characteristics of this exciplex dye laser pumped synchronously by a train of ultrashort pulses from a neodymium glass laser were determined. Spectroscopic investigations were made of the mechanism of formation of excited complexes.
