Holography of smooth metal objects
V. N. Vasil'ev, L. V. Strygin
Abstract:
Photographs were obtained of images reconstructed from holograms of smooth metal objects in the form of a cone, cylinder, and truncated cone. The scattered field was recorded by lensless Fourier holography in the far diffraction zone. In the reconstruction stage a hologram was placed alongside a lens and the image was photographed in the focal plane of the lens. It consisted of several points corresponding to the diffraction by the edges of the objects. The distribution of the intensity of light in the images was determined and the experimental results were compared with the theory.
