Relationship between thermo-optic constants of neodymium glasses and laser characteristics

K. P. Vakhmyanin, A. A. Mak, V. M. Mit'kin, L. G. Popova, I. V. Raba, L. N. Soms, A. I. Stepanov
Abstract: Thermal deformations of active elements made of neodymium glasses are analyzed allowing for the temperature dependences of the thermo-optic constants. The optimal temperature range for the use of active elements is determined theoretically and experimentally. The influence of the values of the thermooptic constants P and Q on the angular and energy characteristics of periodically operating lasers is considered.
