Abstract:
An investigation was made of the conditions of suitability of methods for preliminary filling of a discharge gap with electrons and dynamic profiling of the electric field in a discharge gap in the process of formation of a self-sustained volume discharge in the case of large interelectrode distances d in CO2–N2–He gas mixtures at atmospheric pressure. A self-sustained volume discharge was established in systems of electrodes without any special surface profile and the characteristics of an active medium were calculated for a distance of d = 60 cm.
