Organic dye laser pumped by IFP-40 000 pulse-discharge lamps

Abstract: Solutions of complex organic compounds were used as the active medium in a high-power laser with an output energy of 27 J and an efficiency of 0.7%. The duration of the output pulses was 102 μsec. The angular and energy characteristics of the output radiation were determined. A strong influence of the homogeneity of the active solution on the stimulated emission was observed.
