Abstract: Mixing of radiation emitted by a ruby laser and a tunable dye laser in a GaSe crystal generated the difference frequency. Continuous tuning of this frequency was achieved in the infrared range from 560 to 1050 cm–1. The maximum output power was 300 W per pulse and the spectral line width was 0.5 cm–1.
