Calculation of the parameters of a low-noise optical traveling-wave amplifier utilizing an He-Xe mixture

Abstract:
A calculation is made of the parameters of an optical quantum amplifier utilizing a xenon transition (λ = 3.51 μ) in an He-Xe mixture. The shape of the signal beam is the same as the diffraction mode configuration, which should ensure a detectivity of 1017–1018 Hz1/2·W–1 and a gain of ≈107. The case of gain saturation by the input signal is considered.
