Chemical laser utilizing a mixture of carbon disulfide and sulfur trioxide

Yu. A. Gerasimov, G. N. Kashnikov, V. K. Orlov, A. K. Piskunov, Yu. V. Romanenko, A. V. Taran
Abstract: Photoinitiated stimulated emission was obtained from a mixture of CS2 and SO3. The output energy was higher and the optimal pressure of CS2 considerably lower than in the case of the CS2+O2 mixture. A qualitative explanation was provided of this increase in the efficiency of CS2.
