Two-stage conversion of infrared radiation
È. S. Voronin, V. S. Solomatin, V. V. Shuvalov
Abstract:
Radiation in the middle infrared range was converted to the visible part of the spectrum in two stages employing a YAG:Nd3+ laser as the pump source. A conversion efficiency of 24% in respect of the photon number was achieved experimentally. The advantages of this method, which could be used in a high-sensitivity infrared detector, are indicated.
