Abstract: A review is given of the recent results of investigations, carried out at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, on ultranarrow resonances and their use in spectroscopy and in stabilizing gas-laser frequencies for the purpose of achieving high frequency stability.
