Use of laser electron-beam tubes in projection television
A. S. Nasibov, E. S. Shemchuk
Abstract:
An analysis is made of the characteristics of the formation of television images by a laser electron-beam tube (laser kinescope). The brightness of the screen luminescence can reach 106 cd/m2. The spectral purity of the emitted light, the ability to obtain a large number of gradations (m =120), and the high contrast (k ≈ 10) make the laser kinescope a promising method for the projection of high-quality images on an external screen of area up to a few tens of square meters. The results are given of experiments on the formation of television images on a screen of 12 m2 area.
