Single-mode pulse-periodic oscillator–amplifier system with wavefront reversal

Abstract:
Wavefront reversal in stimulated Brillouin scattering was used to compensate phase distortions in a YAG amplifier. The output radiation has the following properties: diffraction-limited divergence 0.25 mrad, pulse energy 100 mJ, pulse duration 20 nsec, and repetition frequency up to 50 Hz.
